What is a Content Warning?

Books like movies have varying levels of content. Unlike movies, books don't have trailers or rating systems so it can often feel like you are going into a book without knowing the "rating". The content warning sticker is our best attempt as booksellers to guide you through content levels, think rated G to rated R.

We flag 3 types of content - violence, sex, and language. We will do our best to make known heavy language, open door sexual content, or graphic/explicit violence.

We do not provide trigger warnings.

We gather our information in two ways: word of mouth/ personal experience or research. This also means our system is flawed and we will miss stuff or get the rating wrong. We do invite you to kindly email or dm us to let us know we missed something so we can reevaluate our rating if necessary.

Warning Descriptions

Heavy Language. Consistent occurrence of explicit language- excluding words like damn, hell, ass or rare usage. Could be offense listened to out loud.

One or more open door sexual scenes. Open door is considered detailed description of what is happening during the scene, as though you were walking past the door while a person or couple is in the act. Closed door, fade to black, or insinuations do no get content warnings

Graphic/Explicit Violence. Graphic description of fighting, violent death in action, or abuse. A general fight scene, mention of abuse, or death are not part of the content warnings.
